Company Profile

Wholesale spice companies buy, sell, and export hundreds of different conventional, organic, and wildcrafted products in bulk. We specialize in filling custom orders of spices, herbs and botanicals while meeting customer product specifications. Be cautious and do your research when buying products from wholesale herb suppliers and spice distributors. Our products are never treated with chemicals or additives nor are they handled in a way that would reduce the quality.

As we continue to supply health manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, cosmetic companies, and food manufacturers throughout the world with wholesale and bulk organic spices, herbs, and botanicals, we are committed to maintaining the integrity of the product. To support the sustainability of the supply chain, we also lease properties for wild collected crops and certified organic production.

Company History

The history of American Botanicals can be traced back to Wilcox Natural Products, previously one of the main botanical sourcing companies specializing in wildcrafted botanicals since 1900. Over the years, the company grew from a small business into a globally recognized supplier of quality medicinal and botanical products. Wilcox was under the management of Allen Lockard from 1985 until 1994. In 1994, the company began operating as American Botanicals with Lockard as president.

American Botanicals expanded again in 2016 when it purchased Famarco, a company out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The company, strategically located next to a port, has over 80 years of history importing spices and is the largest domestic importer and roaster of carob. The Virginia Beach factory is another of three American Botanicals locations, focusing mostly on importing, manufacturing, and blending of wholesale organic spices, botanicals and herbs.
